I'm not sure you should be too critical of the NFL since they stole this idea from your beloved Yankees and the YES network. Maybe the question should be why does Comcast/Charter/in your case BrightHouse not like their customers very much.
as for your beer needs, try Kahn's 99% of the time they have what i can't find anywhere else.
You know, I don't begrudge the NFL creating their own network. And I think that both sides are being very greedy. But I happen to agree with the cable companies' desire to have the NFL network on the basic cable tier, though our reasons are different.
They'd prefer to put it on basic cable so everyone has to pay for it, while I want it on basic cable so I only have to pay for NFL network instead of the entire sports package.
As for beer, I may hit Kahn's this weekend. I was at the Southport Target last night, so I made a side-trip to Parti Pak. They didn't have either of the beers I was looking for but I did pick up some Sierra Nevada stuff: a 6-er of Anniversary Ale 2007 (an IPA) and a bomber of Harvest Ale. I wanted Celebration Ale but they were out of that too. Amazingly, they had 3 bottles of Founders Harvest Ale left, so I gladly bought them out.
It seems that I can't ever get out of that store without spending at least $20.
I feel like I need to take a shower after I visit the southside.
